Our story
The charcoal brazier 화로 — the heart of Maro Hwaro
Since 2017, MARO HWARO has honored the original Hwaro charcoal grilling tradition, offering an experience defined by natural flavors, quiet elegance, and genuine hospitality.
The gold hexagonal badge etched with the 화로 brazier — Maro Hwaro's own mark, printed on the owner's official banner. 화로 means charcoal brazier — the venue's name says it all.
Each table gets a round charcoal brazier: a dimpled cast-iron plate, Kkot Sal sizzling mid-service. The table holds the chilled banchan bowl, ssamjang, and perilla leaves for ssam — the four-step Korean ritual.
This site covers the Lý Tự Trọng branch — Maro Hwaro has one more branch at Landmark 81.
