The story

The Kim Long alley kitchen

Kim Long began as a family kitchen in the 80/68 Trần Quang Diệu alley, District 3 — the family wraps, steams, and lays out every bánh by hand. No big signboard, no glossy menu: just banana-leaf aroma, steam off the trays, and every tray laid full. Cơm hến — the most laborious dish — appears only on weekends.

THE 80/68 ALLEY

A true alley quán

Kim Long sits deep in the 80/68 Trần Quang Diệu alley — walk in, and the quán appears by the stove.

THE STEAMING TRAYS

Steamed on the spot

Bánh bèo, bánh bột lọc, bánh nậm steamed continuously — full trays, steam drifting to the table.

THE PICKLE JARS

House-made, jar by jar

Glass jars of pickled vegetables on the counter — the make-everything-in-house signal of the Kim Long kitchen, warm under tungsten light.
