The Saveur Café story — a French name and a torn-paper board in Tân Định
A small cafe whose menu is a language game — and a torn-paper board no other cafe has.
“Saveur” — in French it means flavour. The name says it all: four-season juices Le printemps, L'eté, L'automne, L'hiver; cold teas named after Wes Anderson films — The Grand Budapest Hotel, Fantastic Mr. Fox; French pastries: croissant, pain au chocolate, apple brioche. At 11 Nguyen Van Nguyen, even ordering is a French lesson.
The cafe's totem is the menu board: a dark wood frame, torn-edge cards pinned on kraft, the logo a paper tag with two coffee beans forming a lazy S. On the wooden table: a tall leaf-topped latte, the cafe's dark teal ceramic cup with handmade throwing rings on a black saucer, a french press of amber tea, a caramel-glazed pastry. Out on the back ledge, drinks sit on dark stone among green plants — sun through the leaves, the lane's blue wall behind.
The cafe's Beans table lists 10 origins — Peru Geisha, Colombia microlots, Ethiopian anaerobics, Kenya, Brazil — hand-drip 90k–200k in-house, retail beans in 100gr/200gr bags. The whole board runs 45k–95k, transcribed from the Apr 2026 menu-board photo; prices may have changed. Open 07:30–22:00 daily — cold brew in the morning, tea in the afternoon.
