The story

The vendor at the market corner

Bún Riêu Gánh began as a roaming bún riêu pole at the Bến Thành corner — out at dawn, home at dusk, the broth pot always hot. Now it’s a shophouse at 163 Lê Thánh Tôn, District 1, but the bamboo gánh is still there: the soul of the place.

The roaming-pole days

Street soul indoors

Bamboo, zinc, market-morning light — the 163 Lê Thánh Tôn shophouse still carries the vendor’s soul.
