The cabinets
Along the bar room stand glass cabinets displaying curious objects — the collection that gives the bar its name. Sit at the counter, and you drink your cocktail inside a miniature exhibition room.
45 Tran Hung Dao · District 1
A dark room full of glass cabinets, where the owner Hieu pours every drink himself and the chess board is always waiting.
The room — cabinets and chess board
Vo Tri calls itself a cabinet of curiosities — the glass display case of old collections. Around the bar counter stand the cabinets, low table lamps and the chess board; and the bar is run by its owner, who receives guests the way you receive friends at home.

Along the bar room stand glass cabinets displaying curious objects — the collection that gives the bar its name. Sit at the counter, and you drink your cocktail inside a miniature exhibition room.
On Vo Tri's tables there is always chess, a Jenga tower and games set out for guests — the evening here is measured in games and conversation, not in how fast you drink.
Three frames to open
The long counter under green light, the chess board with cocktails beside it and the wooden Jenga tower — how an evening at Vo Tri opens.
The counter runs the length of the room under a row of green glass lamps — the bar's main seat, facing the owner as he makes the drinks.
A wooden chess set laid out on the table, cocktails set beside it — the image that sums up Vo Tri: drink slowly, play long, talk plenty.
The wooden Jenga tower grows taller through the night, beside tall cocktails — the room's second game, and an excuse to stay for one more drink.
Inside the bar
Green light, glass cabinets and unfinished games of chess — Vo Tri through the house's and its guests' photos.
