The Seat Cafe — story

Our story

The café of chairs

In the 491/2 Lê Văn Sỹ alley, there's a café that made sitting its theme.

The Seat Cafe sits in the 491/2 Lê Văn Sỹ alley in Phú Nhuận — and true to its name, everything here revolves around the seat: white wooden spindle-back chairs with red cushions by the window, a wooden daybed piled with floral pillows, a low brown-leather sofa-bench, and a rocking chair tucked among monsteras. No two corners alike, and every regular has their own favorite chair.

On the glass storefront, the café posts a “definition” every passerby stops to read: coffee (kaw-fee) noun — 1. liquid that smells like fresh ground heaven. Above it, the white sign reads THE SEAT in bold slab-serif capitals — also the café's logo, stamped on every paper menu.

Warm daylight streams through tall windows, plants fill every corner, paper pendant lights and star ornaments sway overhead — no surprise that “photo spots” is among the most-mentioned phrases in the café's 331 reviews at 4.5★. The counter menu holds about 44 drinks at 35K–60K, with a 60K signature row: longan–cinnamon-flower tea, tamarind salted-plum tea, lime-rum phin, and pineapple rose tea.
