Saigon Retro Cafe — a retro Saigon café on the first floor of 55 Tran Quoc Toan, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City
SAIGON RETRO
Real antiques the owner kept for years. A hand-painted wall of old Saigon ads. Trinh Cong Son crackling from an old cassette deck. And every drink comes with a hot pot of tea and a plate of pig-ear biscuits.
Genuinely "old stuff"
Much of the café’s décor is genuinely old — a typewriter, cassette tapes, vinyl records, old radios, vintage wooden furniture — things the owner kept at home for years before opening. Not wholesale décor.

Vinyl and CDs on the zigzag charred-wood wall — the café’s signature photo corner.

A guitar on the wall, vintage patterned-tile floor — Trinh Cong Son, Ngo Thuy Mien, Ngoc Lan, even cai luong on the speakers.

The hand-painted wall of old Saigon advertisements — even the menu is designed in the old style.
The price board
Prices from guest reviews (~Aug 2026) — the café hasn’t published an official menu. Black coffee 29k, tamarind ice 35k — and every drink comes with hot tea + pig-ear biscuits.

The tea & biscuit ritual

EVERY DRINK COMES WITH TEA.
Before your drink arrives, the café brings out a hot pot of tea and a plate of crisp pig-ear biscuits to nibble on. A red childhood plum-candy pack and the old radio sit at the table’s edge.
Guests say: "Crunchy biscuits with hot tea — so good." · "Still hooked on that lingering tea-and-biscuit taste."
Up to floor 1, Tran Quoc Toan
Down the alley beside VinMart/Circle K, up to the first floor — green walls, red breeze blocks, a balcony over the street.
