The garden — two ends of the roof

A garden, ten floors up

Mary Jane's splits its roof into two halves: at one end a real garden — planters of herbs the bar picks into its drinks each night; at the other, the view — 360° across Landmark 81, Tan Dinh Church and the whole Saigon skyline.

One end — the garden

The herbs growing in planters on the roof are not decoration: the bar's signature cocktails use leaves picked from this very garden. Greenery runs across both terraces, among string lights and wooden pallet seats.

The other end — the view

From the railing the eye makes a full circle: the pink spire of Tan Dinh Church lit up, Landmark 81 in the distance, and the neighbourhood's rooftops right below. This is a local bar's view, not a hotel skybar's.

Three frames to open

Cocktails and bites on the table, sunset at the railing, and the terrace by day — how an evening at Mary Jane's opens.

Cocktails and bites

Two cocktails and a plate of fried bites on a wooden table — unpretentious serving, at a neighbourhood bar's prices.

Sunset from the railing at Mary Jane's

Sunset at the railing

The roof's best hour: the sun drops behind the skyline while the terrace is still lit. Arrive before dusk if you want a railing spot.

The terrace by day

By day the same roof reads as an airy terrace café — greenery, shade and the city spread out below.

On the roof

String lights, wooden pallet seats and the skyline in every direction — Mary Jane's through the venue's and its guests' photos.
