our story
Our story — LÀ YÊN Cafe
“Là yên” means is calm — and calm is the shop's product.
LÀ YÊN sits in Lane 18bis Nguyen Thi Minh Khai — an alley property listings call “very quiet”: leafy, expat-heavy, full of offices, near the TV station and the Ben Thanh Theatre. The shop's name and the alley say the same thing.
The shop's architectural signature is the brown-framed arch: the arched glass facade, the entrance corridor with its row of arches along the leafy walkway, the arched glass doors set in the interior's raw concrete walls. Half of the shop's real photos carry it — the arch is not just an entrance, it is Là Yên's language.
The hand-painted sign out front lists: coffee, matcha, milk tea, herbal tea, fruit tea, bánh mì — plus the drink named after the shop, Mây Yên Cà Phê. There is no public price list; everything is priced at the counter. This is a shop for morning study, midday work, afternoon chats — not a loud hangout.

A morning-study shop — calm is the product, not an accessory.
Midday work among the plants and the light through the arches.
The plant courtyard, wooden tables, pinwheels — afternoons drift by slowly.
Raw-concrete interior and soft voices — a place to talk without raising your voice.
The shop's name is the promise: this is no party spot.
