The name blooming on the gate
A pocket of Hội An tucked into a District 3 alley — the bougainvillea trellis, the lanterns, the Quảng Nam home cooking.
“Riding past, I saw the lanterns, the yellow walls, the bougainvillea trellis over the gate exactly like Hội An — so I told my friend to pull over right away.”
Tiệm Cà Phê Hoa Giấy sits at 19 Huynh Tinh Cua, Ward 8, District 3 — tucked into a small alley. Its gate is a giant bougainvillea trellis draped over a mustard-yellow Hội An-style wall, with red lanterns along the entrance.
Inside is a ~1975 nostalgic space: small and pretty from the outside, but the upper floor is surprisingly spacious — front hall, back hall and a shaded outdoor corridor. The café runs on fans only, yet the greenery keeps it breezy, never stuffy.
The kitchen cooks Quảng Nam home meals that change daily, with ingredients brought straight from the countryside. Mì Quảng in the morning, office lunch at midday — and the “legendary” stir-fried chili that every guest asks extra of.

Six things only Hoa Giay has
- The giant bougainvillea trellis over the mustard-yellow gate — the café’s name blooms on its own gate.
- Red lanterns along the whole entrance, decorated just like Hội An’s old town.
- A ~1975 nostalgic space with a spacious upper floor: front hall, back hall, outdoor corridor.
- Daily-changing Quảng Nam home meals, ingredients from the countryside.
- Mornings-only Mì Quảng — the “legendary” stir-fried chili every guest asks extra of.
- Fans and greenery instead of AC — breezy, seats 50.
