The Good Days Tea & Coffee story — the garden balcony on floor 8, 42 Nguyen Hue
A garden balcony suspended above the walking street — where the best seat faces the street.
The 42 Nguyen Hue apartment block dates to the 1960s — once housing for officials, now Saigon's most famous “cafe apartment”, a different cafe on every floor. Good Days takes the two top floors, 8 and 9: the higher you climb, the cooler the breeze, the wider the view.
The space is a hanging garden: whitewashed brick set with blue-and-white Bat Trang plates, pothos trailing in bunches, red diamond fabric lanterns in a row. But the crown jewel is the long wooden counter on floor 8 — a row of bar stools, all facing one way: the Nguyen Hue walking street below.
The brand fits inside the name: a sun for the O in GOOD DAY, hand-drawn dotted clouds on the paper cups — the cups even print the floor-8 address and hotline. The drinks reviews name most: egg coffee, coconut coffee, salt coffee. Prices transcribed from board photos (Coffee 8/2026, Food 12/2025) — may have changed.

- The walking-street view counter on floors 8–9 — the highest seats in the apartment block, looking straight down Nguyen Hue.
- The Bat Trang plate wall + trailing pothos — a “sky garden” texture no other cafe in the building has.
- Red diamond fabric lanterns — a warm accent among green and cream.
- The sun-mark brand: a sun for the O, dotted clouds on cups printed with the address + hotline.
- The egg / coconut / salt coffee trio — the most praised in reviews.
- Tall fluted glasses + wooden table-number tags — signature serveware, beautiful layered drinks.
The street-facing counter is the “prime” seat — sun, breeze, and the whole city below.
Hot/iced egg coffee, coconut coffee, salt coffee — the most praised trio.
Sit at the counter looking down at the street, chat for hours — pure garden-balcony mood.
Red lanterns, the plate wall, trailing plants — a background that needs no filter.
A view-facing bar counter, open and busy — hard to focus.
A walking-street view means a busy street — this is for watching the street, not hiding from it.
