Story

A bar curated like a record shelf

The bar's name is a verb: CUR8 — to curate. At 49 Pho Duc Chinh that idea became a listening bar with a record shop, a soundproofed DJ room and a rooftop terrace — run by manager Annie, with the guests choosing the music.

Chapter 01

The curate idea

CUR8 defines itself by curation: records chosen to be listened to — not background music — in a room built around a turntable, with a record shop inside the bar.

Chapter 02

The blue door

Behind the blue door is the Sound Lab — the house's soundproofed room with orange walls and a big speaker rig, where resident DJ Waai plays R&B, boom bap, hip-hop, funk, disco, house and UK garage.

Five stars from a small crowd

153 Google reviews give CUR8 a perfect 5.0 — 152 of them five-star. Guests repeat the same few things: picking their own records, a friendly team and a genuinely quiet listening room in the middle of District 1.
