The name — Chang — means “elephant” in Thai, the animal tied to the Land of Smiles. The shop borrows that name for a warm room in Saigon, where morning coffee and a Thai kitchen share one roof.

The room is warm — wooden tables, soft light. Mornings belong to coffee; from midday to night, the Thai kitchen serves through to 10PM.

Every day the shop opens at 7AM and closes at 10PM. Neighbours drop by for morning coffee, visitors from across town for dinner — and Tran Quoc Thao street stays busy.
