The story

A Huế kitchen in a Saigon alley

Bún Riêu Cô Lệ began when a Huế native carried her hometown riêu pot into alley 284 Le Van Sy — bún riêu, canh bún, bánh đa cua; chả, ốc, huyết, giò lớn. By day it feeds the passersby; by night it's District 3's ăn khuya meetup — the riêu pot bubbling till 23:00 every night.

HUẾ HANDS

The hometown riêu pot

Crab paste, chả, snails, blood cake, big knuckle — cooked the Huế way: bright-sour, deeply savory.

The late-night shift

When the street goes dark, the alley-284 riêu pot still bubbles — District 3's late-night meetup.

The trusty iced tea

A steaming bún riêu bowl, an iced tea — the alley-284 late-night habit.
