A Café Named After Sunlight (And It Earns the Name)

Nắng means sunlight. That's the whole concept — a rustic little café in a Q10 cư xá where the Saigon sun does the decorating. And I need to tell you: the light here is the kind I usually only write about on beaches.

LL1 Tam Đảo, P.15, Q.10. Open 6:30 to 23:00 — which matters, because the morning light is the reason to come. It cuts across the concrete balconies in clean angles, warms the plastic stools, hits the hand-painted wall menu at just the right slant. By 9am it's golden. By noon it's white and honest. By 5pm it's amber and long. I've started thinking of this place the way I think of a west-facing beach: it has a best hour, and the best hour is morning.

The café itself is simple — deliberately so. Cư-xá bones, concrete, no pretension. Drinks top out at 53k, which in this city feels like a small kindness. It's a sit-and-unwind place: the kind where nobody is performing, nobody is photographing their latte art for more than a second, people just... sit. In the sun. Like the name says.

What I love, specifically: the light is doing compositional work. It draws lines across the floor. It makes the concrete beautiful. It turns a plastic stool into a still life. I keep thinking about how rarely a café trusts natural light this much — no heavy curtains, no moody dimness, just the sun, invited in.

The precise recommendation: come between 7:00 and 9:30am. Order whatever's cheapest (it's all under 53k). Sit where the light lands. Stay until it moves. That's the whole visit, and it's enough.

Some places are beautiful because of what was built. Nắng is beautiful because of what was allowed in.
